Your privacy is important to us. We are dedicated to protecting your personal information and ensuring transparency about how we collect, use, and safeguard your data. This Privacy Policy outlines the rules and practices we follow to protect your privacy, your rights regarding your personal data, and how you can exercise those rights. By using our services, you agree to the terms described in this document.

Data collection and processing

Definitions

Noni Service

This privacy policy applies to the utilization of personal data in Noni brainstorming and voting app and a web page, collectively hereinafter referred to as Noni.

The people that use Noni can submit data, including personal data to Noni.

Whose data we collect

You can interact with us in several roles:

Guest is an anonymous person who uses Noni app with an access code without login.

Free member is a user that has created login credentials and logs in to the Noni app.

Pro member is a user that has subscribed to Noni paid features, and thus also created login credentials and logs in to the Noni app.

Host is a member (Free or Pro) who has created the brainstorming session.

Visitor can be a website visitor, or a person who interacts with us by some other means.

Data controller and processor

The terms “Data Controller” and “Data Processor” are defined under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which governs the roles and responsibilities of entities that determine the purposes and means of processing personal data (Controller) and those that process the data on behalf of the Controller (Processor) within the EU.

Noni is the controller of usage metadata such as login data, organization data and system logs. Noni uses this data to maintain and monitor the service and its security, and handle service errors or other technical issues.

Hosts are the controllers of all content submitted by all participants of the brainstorming sessions where they serve as hosts, while Noni acts as the processor of such content.

Data collected

On Noni, we can collect the following personal data depending on your role:

Login details

Upon login to the system, we collect your name and e-mail address and information of the organization. When logging in with an existing account (e.g. Google), we access and store your name and email address as provided by the authentication service to create or manage your user profile in our system.

We use Firebase Authentication service for login, which operates exclusively in the United States. As a result, login-related data is transmitted to the United States. For more details on Firebase’s data handling practices, please refer to Firebase’s Privacy Policy.

Content submitted

Users submit data related to ideas and voting that can contain personal information. This data can contain names or such data to identify the participants.

Data stored in the system logs.

As most websites, also Noni collects automatic log data when it is used or when an error is occurred. The log data may contain personal data such as the date and time of your usage, IP address, used device, operating system or browser used.

Logs are automatically deleted regularly.

Data related to payment

We use Stripe to process payments. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe, and we do not store any of your payment details on our servers. However, when you subscribe to our paid services, Stripe provides us with certain personal information necessary for billing and account management, including your address. Stripe ensures the security of your data and is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant. For more details on how Stripe handles your information, please review their Privacy Policy.

Cookies

Usage data – Cookies

A cookie is a small file that a website saves on the visitor’s browser and sends information to the administrator when the visitor returns to the site. We use cookies to analyze the number of visitors to our site and their behavior.

When you visit the site for the first time, we will ask for your consent to use cookies. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

We process this usage data in Google Analytics (GA4) for statistical purposes, for the provision of our services, marketing and customer communication, and the development of our online services.

Opt-out of website tracking

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.

If you decline analytics cookies, we will not use GA4 to track your visit. However, GA4 may still collect minimal anonymous usage data necessary to ensure site performance. Google Analytics uses IP anonymization by default to protect user privacy. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.

If you wish, you can disable cookies altogether in your browser settings. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.

Data deletion and storage periods

For Free members all data generated during brainstorming sessions—including but not limited to ideas, usernames, and votes—will be automatically deleted 1 year after the start of the brainstorming session. This ensures that no personal or session-related data is retained beyond this period.

Pro members who act as hosts have full control over the deletion of brainstorming session data. They may delete any brainstorming data, as well as their account and associated personal information, at any time, through the provided account settings or by contacting support.

All data is located in EU.
